At the heart of this approach is the understanding that your pain is uniquely your own. While your story and what happened to you are honoured, the work also turns toward what happened within you, how your body, mind, and nervous system responded and adapted. Using somatic awareness and the body as a pathway to healing, it focuses on your specific memories, sensations, emotions, interpretations, and protective patterns. From here, healing becomes personal, precise, and deeply transformative.
the process
creating the conditions for change
Healing is a process, and lasting change takes time. This body-centred way of working is grounded in current neuroscience and an understanding of the nervous system, and it unfolds in stages over six-week blocks, meeting at the same time each week to create a reliable and supportive structure for your therapy process. At the end of each block, we reflect on the work, and you decide if you’d like to continue.
To give a clearer picture of how this process unfolds, I sometimes describe it like this. In nature, the Eucalyptus plant releases its seeds only after exposure to heat. Fire plays a vital role in this process, creating the conditions for new growth. In the same way, this work supports the transformation of your pain, allowing what has been held within you to emerge safely, be processed, and change.
The framework below provides a gentle guide to this therapeutic process.
Like a eucalyptus seed contained inside its capsule, your body needs the right conditions before it can open to what's within. This first stage is about building those conditions - a felt sense of safety and the capacity to stay with sensations and emotions as they arise.
Just as the Eucalyptus releases its seeds only after the fire has passed through, what is held in the body can begin to emerge as your capacity to stay present deepens. This allows us to gently access the origins of your pain, guided by your body’s responses.
Fire clears the way for new growth, burning away what no longer serves. Healing works the same way, unfolding gradually and in stages. When your system feels safe and supported, your body guides what is ready to be processed and integrated, supporting nervous system regulation over time.
The fire does not create the seed; it reveals what was already there. This stage supports a return to your authentic self, restoring inner coherence and enabling you to move forward with greater clarity, strength, and confidence.
This therapeutic work relies on regular sessions and a shared commitment to the process. It is less suitable if you are seeking a quick fix, prefer to attend therapy occasionally, or do not yet feel ready to take responsibility for making changes between sessions. Because this work can bring big shifts, it is important that you have space in your life to integrate those changes and, when you are ready, make some practical decisions that support your healing.
