Frequently Asked Questions

Body-centred psychotherapy recognises that your experiences are held not just in your mind, but in your body and nervous system. Alongside talking about your experiences, we gently explore the sensations, emotions, and patterns associated with them, as well as how you’ve adapted. Using somatic awareness, this work helps you safely process what’s been held within, at a pace that feels manageable for you. It is a deeply personal process that supports lasting change through your body’s natural capacity to heal.

Body-centred psychotherapy can be helpful if you’re living with anxiety, low mood or depression, chronic stress, burnout, or the effects of trauma. It can also support you if you feel disconnected from yourself or your body, even if you’re not sure why. This is a more direct way of working with how these experiences live in your body and nervous system, combining experiential work with psychoeducation to help you get to the root of your responses and patterns over time, and support you in transforming them in a way that feels safe and grounded.

To begin, you're welcome to reach out via the contact form on my website or by emailing me at [email protected]. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. I'll be in touch within 1-2 working days to arrange a discovery call.

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and the discovery call is there to make that step a little easier. It is a 45-minute conversation, priced at €50, focused on the practicalities and whether we’re a good fit to work together. I’ll share more about how I work, what body-centred psychotherapy can offer, and what you can realistically expect from the process. There is space for you to ask questions, to talk a little about what’s bringing you here, and for both of us to explore whether this way of working feels appropriate for you at this time. There is no obligation to commit to therapy afterwards; the call is an opportunity to gather information and check in with your own sense of whether you’d like to proceed.

In our first session, the focus is on slowing down, helping you feel as comfortable as possible, and getting to know each other. We’ll spend time talking about what has brought you here, what you’re hoping for from therapy, and any questions or concerns you might have. The pace is gentle and grounded, with an emphasis on building trust and staying in what feels manageable for you. There is nothing you need to prepare or do “right” for this session - you are welcome to simply arrive exactly as you are.

Sessions last one hour and cost €80, payable in advance by bank transfer or Revolut. Sessions are available in person in Goatstown, Dublin 14, or online. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours' notice in writing, by email or text. Late cancellations will incur the full session fee, although this may be waived in genuine emergencies.

If you are in crisis or need urgent support, please contact one of the services listed below rather than waiting for an appointment. These organisations can offer immediate assistance and guidance. If I am unavailable for any reason, I will respond to your message as soon as I am able, and we can take time together to make sense of what you’re going through.
